What a wonderful way to start off the new school year by clearing out the weeds in garden patches and making room for new seedlings to stretch.
Encourage your little sprouts to poke their fingers in the dirt and plant a seed as a statement of a fresh green start. Let them know your intentions for them to learn and for their knowledge to grow with the plants.
Learning new things can be tough at first: the seedlings have to cut through the seed coat (reading books and learning new things), then crawl through the dirt (studying and application), until the sprout shoots through and achieves its goal of success (achievement). There are even lessons to learn from plants that wilt, as failure is often the best teacher. and learning to regroup from failure is rewarding.
Your little sprouts will see themselves grow and flourish this school year alongside the growing plants. It's also a great way to get them outside and teach them lessons in responsibility and planning by implementing a daily watering schedule.
I can't wait to hear what you're planting in your gardens! Are you planning to grow potato, squash or pumpkin seedlings in time for Thanksgiving or Harvest and other seeds to monitor throughout the year? Comment below!
